Turkey: Parliamentary deputies convicted after unfair trial

, N° d'index: EUR 44/006/2002

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that the legal proceedings in which Leyla Zana, Hatip Dicle, Selim Sadak and Orhan Dogan were sentenced were not fair. However, the four former deputies of the Turkish Parliament remain imprisoned in Turkey for the peaceful expression of their beliefs. Amnesty International's concerns about their situation remain and it renews its call for their immediate and unconditional release.
