Netherlands: Still no Safety: Venezuelans denied protection in Curaçao

Since Amnesty lnternational’s initials report in 2018, the rights of Venezuelans who have fled to Curaçao are still violated. They are automatically detained under inhumane conditions and deterred from seeking protection. Amnesty International is calling on the government of Curaçao to ensure that all foreigners in need of protection can access the protection procedure and that no person is deported to a place where they are at risk of serious human rights violations. The organization calls on the government of the Netherlands to ensure that human rights are respected and protected in Curaçao and with other forms of cooperation.
