Bulgaria: The reported ill-treatment of Valentina and Nedyalko Zagorov and Pavlina and Georgi Pehlivanov
There is concern at two new cases of alleged ill-treatment by Bulgarian police. Valentina Zagorova and her son Nedyalko were beaten by police in a police station in Shumen in December 1996. Pavlina Pehlivanova and her brother Georgi were beaten and threatened by six police officers in front of their house in Sofia. Amnesty International is calling on the authorities for a full investigation into these two incidents.
