Indonesia: Torture of political activists in Maluku

Par Amnesty International, , N° d'index: ASA 21/006/2011

In August 2010, police officers arrested 21 peaceful political activists in the province of Maluku. At least 15 activists were reportedly tortured and otherwise ill-treated by the police during their arrest, detention and interrogation in order to force them to confess. In this document Amnesty International is calling for the immediate and unconditional release of the 21 activists and for an independent and impartial investigation into the alleged torture or other ill-treatment by police.
