Nicaragua: Listen to their voices and act: Stop the rape and sexual abuse of girls in Nicaragua

This report looks at how the human rights of children, particularly girls, are violated not only by the direct actions of state officials, but also when the state fails in its duty to protect children from violence at the hands of members of their own families and communities. Rape and sexual abuse are widespread in Nicaragua, and the majority of victims are young and female. The report also highlights the consequences of the 2008 law criminalizing all forms of abortion on young girls made pregnant as a result of rape.
