Chile: Submission to the United Nations Human Rights Committee: 111th session of the Human Rights Committee (7-25th July 2014)
Amnesty International deeply regrets that Chile has not yet put in place laws that fully guarantee sexual and reproductive rights and is particularly concerned about the total ban on abortion. The organization also considers that more efforts and resources are needed to end impunity for crimes committed during the military regime. The organization remains concerned about reports of the excessive use of force and ill- treatment by the police. Amnesty International is also concerned about the application of the current regulation on migration that appears to discriminate against illegal migrants.
