Despite reforms in recent years there remains concern at the system of crime investigation in South Africa which still relies on torture and ill-treatment of detainees . This document uses the case of Zweli Kenneth Ndlozi, who was accused of theft and subsequently found dead in his cell, to illustrate these concerns.
