Kenya: From life without peace to peace without life: The treatment of Somali refugees and asylum-seekers in Kenya
This document focuses on certain aspects of the treatment of Somali nationals who have found refuge in Kenya. These include the impact of the closure of the Kenya-Somalia border on Somali asylum-seekers’ rights to refuge and protection; reports of refoulement of Somali nationals by the Kenyan security forces; the situation in the three Dadaab camps, which host mainly Somali refugees; and the situation of Somali asylum-seekers and refugees in urban areas of Kenya.
