Palestinian Authority: Silencing in Dissent

In the past six years the Palestinian Authority (PA) has detained dozens of human rights defenders, journalists, religious figures, writers, government officials, trade unionists and academics solely for exercising their legitimate rights to freedom of expression. This report describes the pattern of arrest and detention of these prisoners of conscience in areas under the PA’s jurisdiction and illustrates it with some typical cases.
