Iceland: Joint Submission to the Universal Periodic Review of Iceland 40th Session of the UPR, 25 January 2022

This joint submission by The Icelandic Human Rights Centre, the Women’s Rights Association, Barnaheill – Save the Children Iceland, Humanists Iceland, the National Association of Intellectual Disabilities and Amnesty International addresses concerns about the Icelandic government’s international human rights obligations and ratifications of core treaties, equality and non-discrimination, personal liberties and security, the prison system and administration of justice, the right to work, pension and equal pay, human trafficking, women’s rights, gender equality, children’s rights and the protection of immigrants’ rights. It also includes recommendations which, if implemented, would improve the promotion and protection of human rights in Iceland.
