Amnesty International’s concerns at the 50th session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights

This document describes AI’s concerns about a number of countries and issues relevant to the agenda of the forthcoming session of the UN Commission on Human Rights. Specific country situations addressed are: Afghanistan, Bougainville, Cuba, East Timor, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Israeli-occupied Territories, Myanmar, South Africa, Sudan, Togo, Former Yugoslavia, Zaire, Albania, Cambodia, Georgia, Romania, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Tadzhikistan, Algeria, China (incl. Tibet), Peru and Turkey. Specific issues discussed are: human rights and mass exoduses, women, street children, protection of human rights defenders and promotion of human rights instruments. A bibliography of relevant AI documents is appended.
