Canada: ‘Fighting for the future of our children’: Indigenous rights in the Sacred Headwaters region, British Columbia, Canada

The Sacred Headwaters region provides the Indigenous Tahltan people with both a source of subsistence and a link to culture and identity. The region is also rich in mineral deposits. In this document Amnesty International highlights the economic and cultural importance of the Sacred Headwaters to the Tahltan and urges the government to work collaboratively with the Indigenous peoples to review the environmental impacts of all extraction projects and land-use planning processes.
