Amnesty International welcomes the United Nations Committee of the Rights of the Child’s review of New Zealand under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). This submission outlines Amnesty International’s concerns and associated recommendations with respect to the implementation of the CRC in New Zealand. It includes concerns relating to the domestic children’s rights framework, family environment and alternative care, juvenile justice, health and standards of living, and issues facing marginalised children, including indigenous Māori children and children with disabilities.
