In this submission Amnesty International assesses the implementation of recommendations made to Peru in its previous UPR and the national human rights framework with regard to the ratification of human rights instruments, sexual and reproductive rights, human rights defenders, the right to health and a healthy environment and the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials. Amnesty International raises concerns about gender-based violence, the rights of LGBTI people, violence against human rights defenders, violations of the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and the rights of migrants and refugees.
