Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council today, Amnesty International welcomed the Independent Expert’s report on the human rights situation in Somalia covering the period from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021. This oral statement highlights the following key human rights issues:- freedom of expression and media freedom, COVID-19 and the right to health, and violence against women and girls.
