Somalia: Oral statement at the Forty-Eighth regular session of the UN Human Rights Council, 13 September – 8 October 2021

Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council today, Amnesty International welcomed Somalia’s engagement in the UPR process and its acceptance of 246 out of 273 recommendations. This oral statement highlights the following key human rights issues:- freedom of expression and media freedom, COVID-19 and the right to health, and violence against women and girls.
