Syria: Statement at the 23rd session of the UN Human Rights Council (27 May – 14 June 2013)
Amnesty International deplores ongoing human rights violations and abuses - perpetrated with impunity by all parties to the Syrian conflict - some of which amount to war crimes or crimes against humanity. Indiscriminate ground and air attacks by Syrian government forces are responsible for the majority of civilian deaths. However, all sides have summarily killed captured fighters and others. In this statement Amnesty International strongly condemns all indiscriminate attacks and attacks that target civilians.
