Lebanon: Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review: Ninth session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council, November-December 2010

In this submission, Amnesty International provides information, as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review. The organization raises concern about legislation and governmental decisions which are discriminatory. Amnesty International’s also expresses concerns about the failure of successive governments since the end of the civil war in 1990 to address grave human rights violations of the past; failure to protect fundamental rights of Palestinian refugees; failure to address the situation of migrant domestic workers, torture and ill-treatment; and the death penalty.
