Russian Federation: Bulat Chilaev has not been seen since April 2006 (Postcard)

This postcard, [not printed in English] addressed to President Vladimir Putin, highlights the case of Bulat Chilaev, a 27-year-old driver for the Russian nongovernmental human rights and humanitarian organization Grazhdanskoe Sodeistvie , who was abducted by masked men in April 2006. He has not been seen since. He is one of thousands of people who have become victims of enforced disappearances in Chechnya. The postcard urges the President to make public the official list of missing people; to investigate effectively all enforced disappearances; to establish an autopsy service in Chechnya; and to protect witnesses and relatives from intimidation.
