This report highlights the plight of those human rights defenders who individually or collectively provide humanitarian aid, and advocate for the rights of migrants, regardless of their legal status, asylum-seekers and refugees in northern France. The report focuses on developments in the last two years and geographically in two specific cities along the northern coast of France: Calais and Grande-Synthe (near Dunkirk). It provides key recommendations to the French and UK authorities, and the European Union.
