Freedom of religion remains severely restricted in Indonesia. This document provides a summary of the Amnesty International report in which the organization highlights how Indonesia’s blasphemy laws are fundamentally incompatible with its obligations under international human rights law, and violate legally binding provisions on freedom of expression, conscience and religion, equality before the law and freedom from discrimination.
