This research analyses one hundred reports filed by companies with the US Securities & Exchange Commission under Section 1502 of the US Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. This law, among other things, requires companies to undertake due diligence to check if certain minerals in their products are funding armed groups or fuelling human rights abuses in the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighbouring countries. The report identifies what, in the assessment of Amnesty International and Global Witness, are the minimum requirements of the law and evaluates whether the companies have met those requirements.
