USA: Rendition – torture – trial? : The case of Guantánamo detainee Mohamedou Ould Slahi

This report describes the case of “high value” detainee, Mohamedou Ould Slahi, who has been held in Guantánamo since August 2002, and whose own torture or ill-treatment in US custody appears to have been influenced by what at least one of the 14 detainees held in secret CIA custody, Yemeni national Ramzi bin-al Shibh, allegedly said while interrogated in prolonged incommunicado detention under the “alternative” methods which President Bush has defended.
