Sudan: Osman Hummaida, Monim Elgak, Amir Suleiman: Human rights defenders in exile
Three human rights defenders, Osman Hummaida, Monim Elgak and Amir Suleiman, were arrested by the NISS at midday on 24 November 2008. During their interrogation, the three men were questioned about their work on human rights, justice and accountability in Sudan. All three were forced to leave Sudan because of fears for their safety and have continued their human rights activism from exile. The human rights community within Sudan remains at risk; they need better protection and the freedom to continue their work.
