Qatar: New report to expose labour abuse on World Cup sites

On 31 March 2016, Amnesty International will launch a new report exposing the exploitation of migrant workers on World Cup sites in Qatar.

Based on interviews with more than 200 migrant workers, the report will for the first time document conditions for people working on a World Cup stadium.

The report will show how, despite limited reform efforts in the past two years touted by the Qatari authorities and FIFA, the country’s Kafala system under which migrant workers must be sponsored by an employer leads to forced labour and other abuses.
