Peru: Poor and excluded women. Denial of the right to maternal and child health

This report reveals that discrimination in maternal and child health services leads to the deaths of hundreds of poor women and children in Peru every year. The organization is appealing to the Peruvian authorities to guarantee that information on maternal and child health services will be distributed free of charge and available to socially-excluded groups; that no fines will be imposed on marginalized women who give birth at home; that all children will have access to a Certificate of Live Birth and to an identity under the law; and that appropriate working conditions exist for health professionals.
