On Wednesday 30 April 2014, Amnesty International will launch a major new report on attacks on journalists in Pakistan.
The report shows how Pakistan’s embattled media community faces threats, harassment, abductions, torture and killings from a range of state and non-state actors, including intelligence services, political parties and armed groups like the Taliban. The report is based on interviews with more than 70 journalists and documents a range of recent cases where media workers have come under attack.
Advance copies of the report, press release and other materials are available on request.
