Bulgaria: Amnesty International condemns killings of Israeli civilians

Five Israeli tourists died along with the Bulgarian bus driver and the suspected bomber, and 34 were injured.

“Deliberate attacks on civilians can never be justified,” said Ann Harrison, Amnesty International’s Deputy Programme Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

“Those responsible show an utter disregard for the right to life.”

“This attack must be investigated independently and impartially. Those reasonably suspected of ordering or planning this attack should be brought to justice by a properly constituted court in compliance with international standards of fair trial.”

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
