Peru: Amnesty International to observe sentence in Fujimori trial

An Amnesty International delegation will observe the delivery of the sentence in the trial of former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori – who is accused of approving and promoting human rights abuses such as torture, enforced disappearances and killings.

Amnesty International’s team will consist of Javier Zúñiga, Special Advisor, and Hugo Relva, Legal Expert.

Both delegates have closely followed the trial against the former president and have been involved in research that the organization carried out into the human rights abuses that took place in Peru during Alberto Fujimori’s presidency.
