Amnesty International will release its Annual Report on the State of the World’s Human Rights on Wednesday 24 February 2016, along with new facts and figures, audiovisual material and other resources for media.
The Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the state of human rights globally, including reports from 160 countries.
Not only are our rights under threat, so are the laws and the system that protect them.

With the release of the Annual Report, Salil Shetty, Secretary General of Amnesty International, will warn “not only are our rights under threat, so are the laws and the system that protect them”.
The organization will say that an insidious and creeping trend undermining human rights has come from governments deliberately attacking, underfunding or neglecting institutions that have been set up to help protect our rights.
It will also make new calls around the election of the next incoming Secretary General of the United Nations.
