New Amnesty International briefing on summary killings in eastern Ukraine

Amnesty International is launching a briefing, Summary killings during the conflict in eastern Ukraine, on 20 October in Kyiv.

The briefing documents cases of extra-judicial killings by pro-Russian separatists and by pro-Kyiv forces.

It is based on the findings of two Amnesty International research missions to eastern Ukraine in August and September 2014.

Amnesty International delegates gathered evidence on the ground, including testimonies of local residents in both the Luhansk and Donetsk Regions, among them victims of human rights abuses and humanitarian law violations, members of their families, eyewitnesses, local officials, medical personnel, an Aidar battalion commander, pro-Russian combatants and journalists.
