Stop 14 men being executed in Saudi Arabia

The men about to be executed told the court they were tortured, which makes their "confessions" invalid - most of us could be forced to say anything under torture. They were then charged with offences related to their alleged participation in anti-government demonstrations in Saudi Arabia.

Following a grossly unfair trial, where the men were put in a group with others being sentenced, the judge handed them the ultimate cruel and inhumane punishment: the death sentence.

This is completely unacceptable.

Please act now to stop the executions - they are due to happen any minute, but together we can stop them. Send an email and urge the Saudi Arabian authorities to:

  • Immediately halt the executions;

  • Overturn the conviction of the 14 men and given the grave concerns about the fairness of the trial, to retry them in line with international fair trial standards - without resorting to using the death penalty;

  • Order a prompt, impartial, independent and effective investigation into the allegations of torture and other ill-treatment;

  • Immediately establish an official ban on executions with a view to abolishing the death penalty in Saudi Arabia.

Your emails will be sent to the Saudi Arabian embassies in London, Washington and Beirut and the permanent mission of Saudi Arabia to the UN in Geneva and New York.
