Saudi Arabia: What really happened to Jamal Khashoggi?

The journalist walked into a Saudi Arabian consulate in Turkey and disappeared – we need to know the truth about what happened.

On the 2nd of October Khashoggi walked into the Saudi Arabian consulate in Turkey to get some paperwork and never came out. Since then, several explanations have leaked about his fate and whereabouts.

Almost three weeks after his disappearance, the Saudi public prosecution revealed in their investigation findings that Jamal Khashoggi died after a ‘fist-fight’ inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. But the findings are not reliable.

The world needs to know the truth about what happened to Khashoggi – together we need to demand answers. With enough pressure we can get the Secretary General of the UN António Guterres to set up an independent investigation.

Sign the petition and demand that the UN Secretary General António Guterres set up an independent investigation now.

Khashoggi lived in Saudi Arabia until he left for the United States last year to avoid facing persecution amidst a wave of arrests in the country. For activists and dissidents in Saudi Arabia and the world over, the disappearance and possible murder of Khashoggi means that the hope of a safe place abroad is diminishing.

Without an independent investigation, we may never get the full truth about what happened to Jamal. Take action now.
