Participants will learn about Uncle Pabai and Uncle Paul, two community leaders from the Torres Strait Islands in Australia. They are fighting against the impacts of climate change on their livelihood, community and culture and the failure of the Australian government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As part of the activity, participants are encouraged to write a letter calling on the Australian government to take adequate and human rights-consistent climate action and to show solidarity with Uncle Pabai and Uncle Paul.
