Tunisian authorities released Sherifa Riahi and Mohamed Joo, and a third staff member of Terre d’Asile Tunisie, as well as former municipal official Imen Ouardani, after a Tunis court suspended the execution of the remainder of a two-year imprisonment sentence. Their release came after 20 months in arbitrary detention linked solely to their humanitarian and human rights work supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in vulnerable situations.
