Despite the dismantling of a system that had allowed large scale abuse of human rights in Jordan, some violations continue. This report focuses on three main areas: the incommunicado detention of political suspects; legislation which allows the imprisonment of prisoners of conscience; torture and ill-treatment of common law suspects.
