Private Barak Ben-Gal, Sergeant-Major Ronen Katz and Corporal Yuri Pines are currently in prison for refusing to perform military service in the Israel Defence Force (IDF). The reported reason for their refusal to serve is their opposition to current IDF practices in the Occupied Territories. The three are being held in military detention facilities. Two of the detained, Corporal Pines and Private Ben-Gal have previously served sentences for refusing to serve in the IDF.
