Behrouz Ehsani, 69, and Mehdi Hassani, 48, are at imminent risk of execution in Ghezel Hesar prison, Alborz province, after the Supreme Court rejected their request for a judicial review. They were sentenced to death in September 2024 after a grossly unfair trial, which lasted just five minutes and was marred by allegations of torture and other ill-treatment to extract forced “confessions”.
