This memorandum briefly identifies some of the key issues which, in the view of both Amnesty International andAnti-Slavery International, must be addressed in the European Convention on action against trafficking in human beings. These issues include provisions relating to identification of trafficked persons; a reflection period; provision of support services and protection; residency status; repatriation or resettlement; remedies; a prohibition of prosecution of trafficked persons for status offences and special measures to protect the rights and interests of trafficked children.
