Amnesty International delivered an oral statement before the UN Human Rights Council during the General Debate on Item 3 (Promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development). The statement focuses on the rights of older people, following the presentation by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the summary report on the expert meeting (held on 13-14 June 2024) on the human rights obligations of States regarding violence against and abuse and neglect of older persons in all settings (A/HRC/57/36).
