UN Human Rights Council: Joint statement with FWCC (Quakers) on the death penalty for Panel on the effects of terrorism on the enjoyment of human rights

Statement made by Friends World Committee for Consultation (Quakers) and Amnesty International during the Panel discussion on the effects of terrorism on the enjoyment by all persons of human rights and fundamental freedoms held during the 29th session of the UN Human Rights Council (15 June – 3 July 2015). The statement raises concerns regarding the potential complicity of United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the use of the death penalty for actions defined as terrorism.
