Lulzim Bytyci, an ethnic Albanian aged 28, was allegedly beaten by police on 12 October 1992 in Prizren, where demonstrations took place against the closure of secondary schools and university faculties to ethnic Albanian students and staff who rejected the educational curricula laid down by the Serbian autorities. He was severely injured as a result of the beating and had to have his left testicle removed.
