This submission outlines a number of issues of concern to Amnesty International about Kazakhstan’s implementation of the UN Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. Amnesty International continues to receive credible reports of torture and other ill-treatment by police and security services and the organization believes that a substantial gap remains between law and practice in the field of the prevention of torture in Kazakhstan.
