Armenia: Allegations of ill-treatment - an update
In November 1995 the UN Committee aganist Torture examines Armenia's initial report under the Convention against Torture. This report outlines several allegations of torture and ill-treatment that have been made in 1995. AI is also concerned about allegations that a number of opposition journalists, lawyers and members of religious minorities have been physically assaulted by persons with links to official structures which have not been fully investigated by the police.
