Amnesty International has learned from unofficial sources that 33-year-old Vladimir Ivanchenko was sentenced to death by Yevreysky Regional Court in Birobidzhar, Yevreysky Autonomous Region, on 30 January 1990. He is currently held on death row in the investigation-isolation prison of Khabarovsk city in Khabarovsk Territory. He lodged a petition for clemency on 19 November 1992.
