Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the long-awaited Action Plan on Human Rights in a public meeting on 2 March 2021. The proposed human rights framework represents another missed opportunity for the Turkish authorities to display a strong commitment to addressing the root causes of the most crucial problems in Turkey’s human rights situation.
Recent developments that took place less than 20 days after the announcement of the Human Rights Action Plan are indicative of the government’s commitment to implement human rights in the country.
