In this submission Amnesty International raises concern about the independence of the judiciary, arbitrary detentions and abusive prosecutions; summary dismissals from public service and lack of an effective remedy for public sector workers dismissed by executive decrees during the state of emergency; the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly; and allegations of torture and other ill-treatment.
