Amnesty International submits this briefing to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women in advance of the review of the tenth periodic report of Sweden during its 80th session in October 2021.
In this submission, Amnesty International sets out its concerns about the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women by Sweden with a focus on violence against women and girls, the right to health for destitute EU migrants and legal gender recognition for transgendered people. It should not be seen as an exhaustive list of concerns.
