On 26 June 2026, the European Committee of Social Rights published its unanimous decision finding Sweden in
violation of the European Social Charter for systematically denying vulnerable EU migrants’ access to affordable
healthcare. The decision marks a significant victory for the human rights of vulnerable EU migrants and is
welcomed by Amnesty International and Médecins du Monde, who jointly brought the collective complaint.
