Germany: Discrimination on the rise – Amnesty International: Submission to the 44th session of the UPR Working Group, 9 November 2023

In this submission Amnesty International evaluates the implementation of recommendations made to Germany in its previous UPR, assesses the national human rights framework with regard to national legislation on privacy, police and assembly laws and on sexual and reproductive rights. Amnesty International also raises concerns about racial discrimination and hate crimes and the lack of independent complaint mechanisms for victims of racially motivated violations by the police. Other concerns regard victims and survivors of gender-based violence, the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and breaches of the principle of non-refoulement.
